Hi,
Did you know the largest pumpkin pie ever made was over five feet in diameter and weighed over 350 pounds. It used 80 pounds of cooked pumpkin, 36 pounds of sugar, 12 dozen eggs and took six hours to bake! We are working with Edgenuity weekly in math now. It is a math program that helps students grow in areas of math that they need. This can also be done at home. The website is www.edgenuity.com. The student username and password is bh6digitid (bh and your child’s 6 digit i.d.). There is also Kahn Academy, www.khanacademy.org. Students should know their username and password assigned to them. If not, you can send me an email and I can you let you know. Since there is no daily math homework, these are good options for math practice at home! We are half way though module 1 and took a mid-module 1 test today. Eureka math is really showing students the kind of math that is behind real life situations! If you would like to learn more about it, you can go to their website, www.greatminds.org/math/parents and sign up as a parent. It is free and can be informative. Attached are photos of the Veteran’s Day assembly. Also, when we were learning lesson 14 on graphing ratios on coordinate planes we looked at maps as a real life situation that uses coordinate planes. Photos are attached showing students locating places on the map using the map index. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
