Hi,
We are wrapping up March finishing our unit on solving one step equations for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. We did round tables as practice for all the steps. To help review, we created posters of real life situations that involved writing and solving one step equations. We also played a tangram activity that served as a review. Do you know what tangrams are? Do you know how to make a square out of the seven tangram pieces? As students completed a one step problem correctly they were given a tangram. Once they all had 7 tangrams, they were to make a square. Students also are working real hard on Khan Academy reviewing and being introduced to many different math concepts.
PARCC testing begins on Thursday, April 6th, 2017. We have been practicing sample PARCC problems as our math gymnastics (warm-up). There are three math sections.
Third quarter ends on Friday, March 24th, 2017.
