Hi,
We continue to solve ratio problems using tape diagrams. For lesson 5 we were solving problems using equivalent ratios. This week with lesson 6, we will be using equivalent ratios as well. Do you know what equivalent ratios are? Start with a tape diagram and go from there! On Friday last week, we did a fruit loop activity where students discovered part to part and part to total ratios with their fruit loops. For more practice with tape diagrams, mathplayground.com has ratio practice under their thinking blocks link. Here is the link: http://www.mathplayground.com/tb_ratios/index.html. Also, for help with understanding what we are learning, here are video links for lesson 5 and lesson 6. Lesson 6: https://embarc.online/mod/page/view.php?id=2713 and
lesson 5: https://embarc.online/mod/page/view.php?id=2712
The problem sets for each lesson are to be completed and turned in. Students do get to work on these in class. So far, problems sets from pages, s.4, s.7, lesson 3, s.17, and s.22 should be turned in. Also the review worksheet for lessons 1-4 was due on 9/15. I do post homework on my website, the link is: https://www.weebly.com/editor/main.php or my weebly address is mrsbiarnesen.weebly.com.
I hope this information helps as we work with Eureka math.
Hope your weekend was nice one!
