About Mrs. biarnesen
Hi, my name is Vicki Biarnesen. After obtaining a bachelor's
degree in mathematics from the University of Illinois and working,
in the actuarial science field, I decided to change careers and
became certified in elementary education at Trinity International
University in 2004. My master's degree in curriculum and teacher
leadership was completed in 2012 at St. Xavier University.
This is my 14th year at Big Hollow Middle School as a 6th
grade math teacher! Teaching students about number sense,
expressions and equations, ratios, decimals and fractions,
geometry and statistics, rational numbers and inequalities motivates me to give students
the best learning strategies and problem solving skills. We will be learning through math workshop. I believe it is important that students learn to talk math using critical thinking skills. My classroom motto is learn, achieve and conquer! In my free time
I visit my two grown children and grandson, bike, run, read, and spend time with our Weimaraners!
